Beyonce Giselle Knowles was born on
September 4, 1981, in Houston, Texas. Tina Knowles Lawson, her mother creates
their glittering costumes. Mathew Knowles is Destiny's Child's managing
director. Solange is her older sister (4 years older than her) is releasing her
first album. She performs with her sister at DC-3 concerts. Beyonce's Louisiana

number of awards at this year's (2004) concert. Mathew is her father. The
mother of her, Tina, is of Louisiana Creole origins - mostly African and
French, with ancestors from Louisiana and before this, Canada. Beyonce is also
1/32 Irish heritage, and also has distant Breton, Spanish, Indonesian, and
Chinese roots from her maternal side in addition. According to some sources,
she invented a stage name known as "Sasha" to overcome her shyness.
