Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland is a model and actress. Alison Doody first made a film debut as the Bond model on the set of A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she starred as a character in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Doody played Nazi sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Siobhan Doovan portrayed Charlotte as Taffin in 1988 and Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Doody was invited by a photographer, who asked her to perform the role of a model. Then she began her career as a commercial model. Doody was determined to steer clear of the glamour of nude roles that was a rule she followed in her acting. She was cast in a minor part as Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill following the fact that she was spotted by the director of casting. Doody was as a character in John Willis Screen World Volume 2, as one 12 promising actors to be cast in 1986. 38. Only 18 years old as she played the role Doody was, and still is one of the smallest Bond girl to date. The year 1987 was the time Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying where she played IRA members Siobhan Doovan. Doody played the role of Archibald's wife, Lilias, in his dream in the television adaptation The Secret Garden. Doody was Sapsorrow in an episode of Jim Henson's fantasy show The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before she took probably her most high-profile part to date in the role of Austrian Archaeologist and Nazi-sympathiser Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. Doody played the role with Sean Connery, who played Indiana Jones' father. Doody was a part of Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries, a British mini-series that was inspired by Hitler Diaries. Doody later moved to Hollywood. She went on as Flannery her agent, as well as partner on the set of Major League II. She was chosen to be the replacement for Cybill Shepherd who was L'Oreal's first spokeswoman. Doody, who had been away from acting for almost 10 years, returned in 2003 to play a small role on her role in the British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine was her character in a scene at an awards ceremony. The roles she played included the TV movie adaptation of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 and a book about the Holocaust as well as the short film Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody filmed a role in the film of Danny Dyer, The Rapture. Doody appeared on RTE's Medical drama The Clinic. The project was eventually canceled. The actress began her two seasons of the E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she appeared on We Still Kill the Old Way (2014).
